Brief

Campus Motor Anoia  proposed us to create a face-to-face learning experience on Entrepreneurship in the field of Connected Car and gamification addressed to people with an entrepreneurial profile and motivated to acquire and apply the contents on the field of connected car and autonomous vehicle.

Goals

– Create training contents about entrepreneurship and gamification.
– Design a Challenge Based methodology to perform training.
– Develop teaching for a period of 6 months.

Our Proposal

Entrepreneurship training for Connected Car and the Connected Car Challenge

Description of the subject
Face-to face training aimed at people interested in acquiring specific training of the connected car. Campus Motor Anoia will organise, along with the Anoia County Council, the Anoia Connected Car Living Lab, a broad course aimed at those interested in acquiring specific training of the connected vehicle. The training will offer a degree from the Generalitat of Catalonia and is completely free.
The training will include teaching staff from leading companies and organizations in the subject matter such as Cellnex Telecom, Applus IDIADA, SEAT, Eurecat, Vodafone, RACC, Barcelona School of Design, CIAC, UOC, UPC and Geomotion Games.

Methodology
The methodology is hybrid since the sessions are face-to-face but a part can also be online.
Each student will have to define his own company project (startup) and the teacher will accompany him in the definition and growth of the idea and the business. Practical cases will be analyzed in the classroom in order to help students in the definition of their project.

Likewise, the psychological foundations behind the entertainment experiences will be studied, we will work the player types and explore the knowledge bases related to Game Design that are basics for the correct conceptualization and implementation of a memorable entertainment experience regardless of the scope of application.

The project aim is to design and define a Concept Document of an entertainment experience to be presented orally to a jury.

Brief

IED (Istituto Europeo di Design) proposed us to create a blended learning experience on Creative Entrepreneurship addressed to Master’s students during their internship period. The purpose of the project was to conduct training using active learning methodologies in entrepreneurship and identify potential entrepreneurs, teams and projects that could be incubated or accelerated at the end of the training period.

– Design and implement an attractive and graphically customized Virtual Campus (LMS).
– Develop teaching for a period of 6 months

Creative Entrepreneurship Challenge Based Learning Subject and Connect IED

Description of the subject
The aim of the Creative Entrepreneurship subject is to provide students with the knowledge, skills and attitudes required to meet the challenge of entrepreneurship in any professional environment.

The subject deals with aspects such as the concept of entrepreneurship and the characteristics that an entrepreneur must have in terms of both a business and psychological attitude. It also contains an overview of the concept of success and failure and analyses cases in which startups and entrepreneurs have managed to succeed or have had to give up on their dream.

The Creative Entrepreneurship subject involves a primarily practical training process with an active methodology in which students are given a challenge to create their own startup by using a lean startup methodology. Students must analyse the most relevant existing trends that have a greater perspective of growth, propose a product or service with a viable and scalable business model by using tools such as the Business Model Canvas and finally, create their own presentation and record a pitch to present it to potential investors in the PechaKucha format.

Methodology
The course follows the technique of learning based on challenges, which consists of completing different activities linked to a fictitious situation in the field of sustainability.
By following the course timetable, students independently undertake the activities provided by the challenge and present these according to the timetable proposed for the subject.
Students can find all the material they need to complete the activities linked to the challenge in the virtual classroom space. Any doubts that students may have about the activities throughout the subject can be sent to
their tutor through the subject forum. The tutor provides a response within 48 hours (maximum).
The digital platform is the official communication channel between the school and students during this subject.

Our client proposed us the challenge of designing a serious game with a memorable user experience to visit shopping malls. This experience should allow visitors to obtain virtual currency, exchangeable by real offers published by retailers, through the interaction with minigames, contests as well as digital and real world elements.

Location-based strategy and resource management mobile game

Goal of the game
The goal of the game is to become the biggest tycoon of the shopping centers managing the fortune efficiently to maximize the benefits and expand the empire to every Shopping mall of the world.

Storytelling
The “MacGillan” family has been running the “MacGillan services Corp.” and has been one of the most reputable and honored of the retail sector for many years. Recently, his most charismatic CEO “Peter MacGillan” passed away. After this unfortunate nobody is responsible and competent enough to manage this immense empire of retail and retailers and owners of shopping centers are looking for a new leadership.
A group of investors has received good references from you and believes that you are the most competent person and prepared to take over the monopoly of shopping centers.
This is your opportunity to show that you are a great connoisseur of the business of shopping centers and retail. But you will have to start from the bottom, with a minimum investment that you must manage to become the new Shopping Mall tycoon. During the game the player will taste the popularity and enjoy watching how he becomes a richer, famous and popular. The retail hall of fame awaits him!

Gameplay

Player needs to start from the scratch visiting the shopping mall and rent small sectors of the stors, collect the rental benefits from them and bid or buy sectors from other players. The game challenges the player offering missions containing actions (renting, collecting benefits, bidding, buying, etc.) to be performed in the shopping mall during the visit.
When the player overcomes a mission, obtains XP and Virtual Coins that he can exchange for offers. When the player exchanges the coins for an offer he gets a coupon that he must show at the store to benefit from it.

BEACONING stands for Breaking Educational Barriers with Contextualised, Pervasive and Gameful Learning and will focus on ‘anytime anywhere’ learning by exploiting pervasive, context-aware and gamified techniques and technologies, framed under the Problem-Based Learning approach.

Project Goals

Integrate technologies, pedagogical and social perspectives using pervasive, context-aware and gamified approaches ensuring that the BEACONING platform is innovative while also extending our scientific understanding and practice-based experiments of engaging a community of learners including those with disabilities with a more inclusive, connected and contextualised learning process.

Develop, implement and validate the BEACONING platform that:
1) leverages cutting-edge approaches including the Future Internet technology, mobile, gamification, pervasive gaming, procedural game content generation, game authoring, human-computer interfaces, learning analytics and problem-based learning model;
2) is usable, adaptable, extendable and sustainable.

Explore and measure the level of engagement, effectiveness and impact
that is enabled by the BEACONING platform towards incentivising learners and fostering acquisition and transfer of knowledge and skills, validate this through large scale pilots involving a community of stakeholders and practitioners in Europe, and provide an exploitation and business plan for the platform adoption.

Authoring Tool to create Gamified Lesson Paths

The Authoring Tool for Gamified Lesson Paths (AT-GLP) is the core structure of the BEACONING system. The main objective of this component is to map the Lesson Paths to minigames, allowing teachers to configure gamified experiences for their students

Context-Aware Challenges and minigames

Teachers can easily integrate location-based games and minigames into their Gamified Lesson Paths to create real-life learning adventures for their students beyond the physical boundaries of the classroom. 

Game and Learning Analytics

Learning analytics manages multilevel analytics through improvements to both policy and mechanism; and introduces meta-Learning Analytic Models, which characterize learning in hierarchical structures.
